No doubt the blazer hoodie trend is a styling combo you’ve seen everywhere by now. It has that effortlessly cool-girl vibe that we all dream of right? And I, for one, am definitely not effortlessly cool. However anything that involves layering pretty much has my attention from the start.
It’s a trend that on paper, is a match made in hell. But who knew it worked so well in the flesh? For someone who’s wardrobe choices revolve mostly around comfort and warmth, getting that hoody layer in there is key, so I am totally here for it. I’m usually one for really keeping it simple with my outfits, however I am a sucker for a strong blazer and a huge hoodie lover, so what could go wrong?
Where to Start?
I took to Pinterest to have a nosy at some other girls’ styling and get some inspiration, and then went out and braved the look myself. An oversized blazer works best, as you don’t to feel restricted once you’re all layered up. I think that a more masculine cut works best too, so I’d recommend sizing up in a boyfriend-fit kind of blazer to get the optimum look. In terms of colours, it’s totally your time to shine and let your personality through with a colour pop hoody if you so wish, which you’ll see in some of my inspo below. But I personally opted for a more tonal vibe to go with this classic grey POW check blazer I picked up from Zara last year.
Personally I think it works best with a strong pair of jeans, cross body bag and a pair of heeled or chunky boots. But also if you’re a heel girl, it looks ace with a pair of barely-there scrappy sandals too!

Pinterest is somewhere I’ve been spending a lot of time lately, and it’s probably my favourite of the socials at the moment. It’s inspiring, pretty well tailored to your taste based on what you pin and upload yourself, and it’s pretty rewarding engagement wise compared to other well known social media sites *cough cough* instagram *cough cough. Be sure to follow my street style inspo board for beautiful styling inspiration from some real life angels.
Is the blazer hoodie trend one that you’ve tried yourself? This is one of the first time’s for me but I’ll definitely be wearing more of on the cold, but not quite unbearable winter days that I’m sure we will still be seeing more of in 2020. What other trends are you looking to try out this year? Let me know and maybe I’ll be trying them out too!
