Shopping My Wardrobe

What could be a more sustainable way to shop than shopping your own wardrobe? I’m very conscious of buying as little newness as possible these days with my focus being only on investing in core wardrobe staples. That way, one day I will truly have the quality capsule wardrobe that I lust after- or that’s the goal anyway! But in all honesty, it is a struggle saying no to things that I would have given a big fat yet, get in my basket, in a previous life! Mainly because welcoming new clothes into my wardrobe often really inspires me in terms of styling those it tends up and having something new to wear. However it is inevitable that some as your seasonal wardrobe rotates, some pieces get left all lonely at the back of the cupboards. Items that have made it into the ‘keep’ pile during clear out after clear out, but still haven’t made their way out into daylight in years.

I thought it would be fun to start a little blog series of what I find shopping my own wardrobe, with a quick outfit post each time. This week I found this grey ribbed longline cardigan, which I have had for years… any OG readers might have seen this back in the day, I might try and link an old outfit post for you if it isn’t too cringe…(it was too cringe). I’ve always kept this when clearing out my wardrobe year after year because it’s actually a really lovely quality knit, and I always loved wearing it. It’s just one if those pieces that feels very ‘trend’ led, but hasn’t actually been on trend for quite some time. But hell to the trends, I wore it this week for a work from home day and loved it. Like I said, the quality is lovely and it’s quite a firm knit rather than being a slouchy cardigan, so I felt super put together, whilst also feeling warm and comfy- the work from home essentials.

What’s the best thing you’ve found lately in shopping your own wardrobe? I’m quite excited to see what I find next time!

P.S. I had a little photo bomber trying to crash this photoshoot! I’ll forgive her because she is just too cute!
