The check blazer is one of the biggest trends out there right now, and has been for a while now. I’ve loved the whole look since it started popping on peoples feeds, but it’s taken me until now, or a few weeks ago anyway, to actually buy into the trend myself. There’s been a tonne of variety on the high street, but it wasn’t until I tried on this one from New Look, that I found one that I wanted to have I my collection. The check on this blazer is tiny, and sets itself apart from the typically larger grey Prince of Wales style checks that a lot of stores are stocking, and a lot people are rocking. I think they look great, but I knew that I wanted something a little different. This beauty fits into my wardrobe beautifully, and I think will be around in my collection long after the Check Blazer trend fades
This is connected to something that I’ve really come to realise over the past year or so. I’ve been buying less, and thinking about my purchases more. And that’s usually what people say when they start investing in designer items. Unfortunately I am not… I’m just becoming increasingly aware of sustainability. We can’t keep re-buying a whole new wardrobe each season, it’s wasteful if nothing else. Considering your purchases is important because of this, but also I think making sure you’re buying something that fits into your existing wardrobe, and will work with your personal style, rather than purely buying into a trend for it’s popularity, and wearing something that isn’t ‘you’.
