Well, well, well, look what we have here. A little seasonal catch up from yours truly. How are we all? I must admit the past couple of months have felt like a bit of a whirlwind, I’ve been super busy with work, and now all of a sudden it seems that Christmas is just around the corner. As I write this I’m actually trying to persuade myself out of putting my tree up prematurely, am I the only one? I’m really getting into all of the festive vibes already. We have watched one or two Christmas films on Netflix recently (not the big guns like The Grinch or The Holiday, it has to be closer to Christmas for those, right? I’ve dotted a few fairy lights up around the house, and of course there’s all the Christmassy scented candles being burnt- although that’s often the case all year for me, they smell the best! But the tree, the tree feels like it should wait until at least the back end of November.. doesn’t it? Last year I went rogue and decorated mid-November (cos, 2020), and now I just feel so desperate to do it again! Anyway, watch this space to see whether I can hold off or not, riveting stuff, I know.
Anyway, other than ploughing through work and fighting the festive urges, we’ve also been trying to finish off a few little jobs around the house in time for all of the festivities, which feels wonderful. Everyone said to me when we moved, that when it comes to little jobs in the house, if you didn’t get around to doing it in the first 6 months, you probably never will. And for us it really was nearly the case, we blasted out so much decorating and so many jobs in the house in the first two months, around this time last year, and then throughout 2021 we’ve pretty much done nothing… so we thought we best pull our fingers out and finish off a few bits before this Christmas, as next year will hopefully be time to get some of the bigger jobs that we’ve needed to save up for underway.
Shop my Look
Calendar planning for December is also underway, and that always ramps up a notch too doesn’t it? I’ve had so many gloriously empty weekends and now I’m having to think about outfits galore for every weekend coming up on the horizon. Shopping my own wardrobe as much as possible of course, as those pennies need saving for Christmas presents- and not for myself! There’s a lot of fun stuff coming up but I also can’t help but feel a tiny bit anxious and overwhelmed about having so many plans in such a short time frame. I think with last December being super quiet thanks to the North being in good old Tier 3 for God knows how long, it just feels like a lifetime ago that we had a busy Christmas, and as exciting as it is to be able to spend time with family and friends, it’s a teeny bit daunting too on such a scale.
Any who, I’ll leave it there for today, it’s been nice to just spill my brain onto the page a little bit here for a little catch up. Let me know your thoughts on getting those Christmas decs out in November, and whether you’re excited or anxious about Christmas plans this year? I would love to hear from you in the comments!
