It’s been a long old time since I’ve written any kind of life update, and if I’m honest, I feel I’m resorting to it today as fail-safe piece as I’m in the midst of serious writers block. I mentioned in my last post that I’ve had a lot going on lately, and it’s seriously impacted my blog. I’ve felt super disconnected from this space lately for some reason, and I’m in the need of some inspiration and motivation to get writing again.
I’m going to jump straight in with the biggest thing that’s new in my life lately. Viewing houses. Luke and I are almost ready to buy a place of our own, and we’ve started having a look around at different areas and a couple of different houses to try and work out for definite what we actually want. Buying a house is such a huge decision and commitment to make, now more than ever, and so it’s definitely something we don’t want to rush, we have waited so long already, that I would rather make sure we get a house that ticks all of our boxes. It’s a super exciting journey that’s starting for us both and I honestly think my screen time on right move must be outweighing instagram nowadays.
Obviously with this has come a huge shift in the content I’m consuming. I’m honestly knee deep in interior pages and renovation vlogs. Not to mention a spot of good old Kirsty & Phil, and Kevin McLeod of course. I’ve become a tad obsessed with the wonderful world go houses in the quest to find the perfect one for us (that we can afford, Lord knows that’s another blog post topic in itself). If anyone has any recommendations for home/ interior bloggers, please point me in the right direction!
I’ve also recently gotten a promotion at work which is obviously a real positive. As I said, work has been rather hectic lately so to get some kind of sense of appreciation makes it that little bit more worthwhile.
Summer is fast approaching. In less than a week we will be in June. Half way through 2019 already- madness! But that means it’s time for my summer holiday, the countdown is well and truly on which is great! Which also means holiday shopping should be in full swing but I’ve really not gotten very far as of yet. I won’t be buying too much, as it’s not the greatest idea to buy a load of new clothes just for a week away and then pack them away never to be seen again. I have been guilty of that in the past but like to think I’m more ‘woke’ now. I’m definitely not young enough or cool enough to say that, but I’m not sure how else to say it. Plus, the whole saving for a house thing and spending on a new summer wardrobe don’t quite go hand in hand.
One thing that is sustainable for holiday prep is running. I’ve been trying to get back into running regularly for the past couple of months. Some weeks are much better than others I’ll admit, it’s not quite drilled into my routine yet, but, I’m really enjoying it when I’m out there, and I’m noticing improvements almost every time I go which is motivating to keep getting out there. The Great Manchester Run got me really inspired last weekend, seeing the sheer amount off people cruising 10k quite easily, made me realise I really want to do one myself, so I’m looking at signing myself up in the coming months. Even though I’ve got a long way to go before I can run a 10k without a break but a girl can have goals can’t she? And I’ll definitely be doing the Manchester 10k next May as the atmosphere was amazing last weekend!
If I do as well as I hope to with keeping up running in the coming months, I’ll be putting together a blog post on my ‘journey’. Sounds silly but it really is a journey when you start off as unfit as I was at the beginning! It’s hard work but super rewarding and SO good for mental clarity.

There’s not too much more to update on at the moment, but I am looking forward to a lovely bank holiday weekend for which I gloriously have no plans. Bliss. So I’m hoping to feel more inspired and get some more blog posts written to post in the next couple of weeks. I do have a few good ideas so wish me luck with banishing the writers block so I can piece theme together!
