January might be glum for some, but for me it’s a great excuse to layer up in the cosiest layers and it’s my favourite time of year to style, as I’ve mentioned many times before. You can see in January last year I started flaunting the gorgeous Topshop burnt orange boucle coat that I have worn constantly again in winter 2019.
February included many more cosy layers with the anomaly of one crazy February outfit- a t-shirt and jeans! In February 2019 we had some crazy out of season warm weather, it was about 18 degrees and sunny if I remember rightly, t-shirt weather! I wrote a post all about my worries and how we can all do our bit to help stop these crazy changes to the environment which you can read here.
March included an outfit fave of mine, as I re-discovered this mint blazer style coat which I’ve had for YEARS, as you might remember if you’re an OG reader. A trip to London saw the introduction if these utility style trousers, something I’ve not really gotten into, but I gave them a good go! You win some you lose some.
April was when I got on board with the chunky boots & continued to roll my burnt orange coat. I also treated myself to these Ice Blue Nike internationalists which have been the comfiest trainers I’ve EVER bought. 100% would recommend if you’re in the market for some dreams for you feet.
May, as the weather supposedly warmed up, the big coats got packed away and this green shacket entered my wardrobe, and I wore it to death.
June was a very busy month for me, evidently as I only shot one outfit this month. Luke’s birthday for which I planned a big surprise weekend, and then I went away for a week with my 2 best friends towards the end of the month.
July- SUMMER arrived! I found this beauty of a casual linen black dress from H&M, which I practically lived in through the water months.
August saw the sun continue to shine (in-between rain pour), and I found myself a fab new pair of dungarees to bring out my inner child. My friends and I had a gloriously sunny weekend at Manchester Pride, bringing August to an end at a high,
September saw the rise of the infamous H&M jacket, and my pic appearing on the Daily Mail for the first time, a pretty crazy moment!
October for me meant a stay-cation up to the Durham Dales with Luke’s family for a week’s break. And with that I carried on wearing that H&M jacket.
November was the month I got my hands on the beautiful H&MxPRINGLE jumper that I’m wearing here, and I still bloody love it. Such a classic piece that I have for years to come. I just love it when we find such a special piece to add to the wardrobe.
December. The year is finishing up now, just one more day to go! I’m still wearing that same Orange coat and I love it just as much as I did last Christmas when I received it.I also got some gorgeous black western boots in the ASOS sale, such a steal at £30 and they’ve done me for all my Christmas events so far, even though I had to take a rain-check on my works Christmas party and swap it for an early night sipping on Lemsip.
I always find it fun to look back n the year, and even going back through my outfit pics brings up so many memories and feelings I had forgotten about throughout the year, the good and the bad. Nevertheless I find it’s important to reflect on what we’ve got through in the year to move forward. Right now I’m super excited about 2020 and am looking forward to bringing in the new century tomorrow in a pretty chilled manner with a few friends and family. How are you bringing
